Finally, Pellegrini clarified the circumstances around his substitution in the 64th minute when he replaced the injured Arnautovic.
He added: “When Marko was injured, I called for Lucas because he had been warming up, but when I saw he was sitting on the bench because he had finished and Antonio was working, I saw that Antonio was ready.
“That’s why I changed path and went with Antonio, and not wait for Lucas to warm up, because we needed to make the change immediately."

He was on loan at Deportivo last season and got slaughtered by the home fans for clearly behaving like a big time charlie and thinking he was Lionel Messi.
He scored 18 goals in 2015/16 season - up until then he had been a very average journeyman player in Ukraine and Greece.
Arsenal signed him and he hardly played then was loaned back to Deportivo - who got relegated.
I had my doubts about us signing him and if it's true he refused to warm up then I hope somebody rips him a new one
I keep an eye on Deportivo because my old man's family is from there...so I know a little bit about them and what goes on there - it's a small city so word gets around quickly in those parts

I reckon what happened was this, Pellegrini was bringing off Anderson or Yarmalenko and the natural replacement was Antonio. Arnie gets injured and Antonio is standing there ready to come on so Pellegrini sent him on. Perez then gets pissy as he thinks he should be the replacement for Arnir
